Blues No. 1 06:36
Blues skies above me, The sun in my eyes, The sound of the waves, And the seagull cries. No woman problems, No holes in my shoes, I've got those, Ain't got nothin' to worry 'bout blues. Friends come to visit, We laugh and we joke, Days drift on by, Like cigarette smoke. No falling shares, No union dues, I've got those, Ain't got nothin' to worry 'bout blues. This place is dandy, If you like that kind of thing, Plenty of people, With plenty of swing, No problem getting, My smoke and my booze I've got those, Ain't got nothin' to worry 'bout blues. Find me a friend, I don't ask them their name, 'Cause no one here's lonely, And no one here's lame. Everyone's perfect, Everyone's cool, I've got those, Ain't got nothin' to worry 'bout blues. So leave me here baby, I'm doing fine, Down at this town, At the end of the line. Problems diminsh, When there's little to choose, I've got those, Ain't got nothin' to worry 'bout blues.

Came here to look, But not to touch, Not fall in love, Well, not too much. Came here to make my way, Came here to do it, To get my kicks, At least get through it. This is Daddy O, For the Double O, This is chererio, This is ciao, This is Daddy O, For the Double O, Hamburgers of Sacred Cow. Came here to find, But not to keep, Not make a mark, Well not too deep. Came here to play my part, Came here to cue it, To love the world, At least not to screw it. This is Daddy O, For the Double O, This is chererio, This is ciao, This is Daddy O, For the Double O, I'm not sure I like it now. The grand ideas, All put to bed. We're dollar followers, Not profit led. The best laid plans, Of Mice and Men, Best laid to rest, Lest said the better... This is Daddy O, For the Double O, This is adios, This is bye, This is Daddy O, Or a kiss to blow, To that twenty century guy.

What have we done? What have we done? This strange place called home. And who for? And who for? The old man climbed down from the pole, The old man climbed down from the pole, He said: "I've been up there twelve years but now I'm dying." He said: "I've been up there twelve years but now I'm dying." God forgive us, Allah forgive us, Buddha forgive us, Krishna forgive us. God forgive us, Allah forgive us, Buddha forgive us, Krishna forgive us.

There is no middle ground, There is no getting by, The gulf just seems to widen as the buildings fuck the sky. It's either make a lot of money, Or hit out on the street, The shops are full of food, There's people starving at my feet. There is no Middle Ground, There is no getting by, There's only going low, There's only getting high. Nothing is replenished, Nothing is redeemed, Dreams just seem to fade as fast as phosphor on the screen. There is no middle ground, Or have we been sold a lie, Maybe there is no us and them, Maybe there's only you and I. Opposition parties, While we sit home alone, And dream of ways of living that we were never shown.

Beautifully sung and emoted by the incomparable Jon Gilhooly, this collection of songs can best be described as Matt Monroe meets The Avalanches during the millennial zeitgeist.
