Milt Shake 03:06
What the F**k? I mean Every day is like a new version Of the WTF meme, They say those who don’t know speak And those who don’t speak know Plainly I don’t know jack ‘Cause I’m finding it hard to stay silent Watching this unfolding Shit Show Or maybe it's because the Mo Fo’s who don’t know Shout over those who would speak the truth It’s been a while since Elvis left the building And even the elephant in the room has followed suit In 1995 it was beans make five And you could take a deep dive into the sounds and the scribe My Syllables are diggable Pertinent, original I’m spittin’ out nouns so profound they’re indivisible like the truth: (Whatever the hell that is), But don’t expect to get it from your Mumsies and your Dadsies, ‘Cause they got fed that shit and now you gettin’ it! But hey this ain’t no game boy You can’t press escape to quit. “The revolution will be televised Because it has been revised, bite sized, downsized, digitised and commercialised” Don’t exactly know what’s coming next Apart from Bill Gates and the Great Reset Or Meta, Huh? (Just when you thought things couldn’t get any better :) A virtual unreality show Or a new ground zero where the bees can’t go It seems even nature can’t compete With the new emperors of Control / Alt / Delete And just what does await us? Some Neo Liberal Garden of Earthly Delights That’s gonna set us all free Well maybe it will But between you and me And certainly in terms of karma It reminds me a lot more of the Hieronymous Bosch version Just take a look at what happens to that Nirvana Have all the good ideas come to harm? Hask peace and love really bought the farm? I guess now that Old Macdonald’s a global logo It’s eeyie eeyie adios amigo What the…? I mean What the… Fuck I mean…

Lest We Forget. Standing in the winter wet They lay their wreaths Sombre faced Whilst the chiselled stone bears witness To the barbarism of centuries past. Lest We Forget. Yet only twenty two years in Twenty two years since the Y2K millenium Congo, Syria, Darfur, Iraq, Afghanistan,Yemen Ukraine. Lest We Forget (again). I feel the need To express myself more deeply Than a comment on a Twitter feed I’m choosing a language of the oppressed Because freedom was never better expressed Than in the lines of Coltrane, Melodic code tapped out on a collective vein of improvised protest. And if this reminds you of Niama or Blue in Green in places, Know I’m not pretending to emulate such greatness, Or trying to replace those spaces Just like the Benin Bronzes they deserve their rightful places. It's just that I found little sustenance before I heard Miles, Monk and Parker, My soul instinctively flew to the hue of this muse much darker To help me articulate a helpless rage That white men my age, Are writing another page in the history of denied dreams and suffrage That the Age of Enlightenment ends like this: Conspiracies and narcissists, Oligarchs and survivalists. Ukraine. Lest We Forget (again). But if you think that right has to be kept through might Then you have already lost the fight, This latest mess between east and west Was a failure of those who didn’t need to choose Between a solution, or the dissolution of everything cherished. For those with the most to lose aren’t the ones who get to choose the terms That's left to the diplomats, the ones with links to banks and firms Thus profits are preferred and lives are deferred Heads down leaving hurried meetings They mumble into microphones “The talks have broken down we have run out of time” Well, they should be handed a gun and sent straight to the front line. With that thought at the back of their minds, They would soon find common ground to build a peace, Just like any two families would have found, A space for love to flow and kids to grow, To know when you sleep, You are safe and sound. Ukraine Lest We Forget (again)

about

This release sees plobtr0n returning to his musical roots, collaborating even more closely with Dodge Paterson and their mutual love of sampling, beats and jazz inspired improvisation. plobtr0n’s spoken word is the language of protest - something that lies at the very heart of jazz idiom; freedom of expression and the political struggle for equality in race, gender, culture and belief. With the fabulous vocal support of Jon Gilhooly from Papa Zilch, plobtr0n and Paterson humbly offer this music for your consideration.

As always, all the money made (after BandCamp fees and payment transactions) goes to msf.org.
